March Block for Jennifer in NJ - Hope you liked it!

Linda let me know that Jennifer received my block some time last week, so here it is! This was my very first swap and I was very excited to participate. Jennifer mentioned she liked autumnal colours and was not that fond of solids. Thanks for being my partner Jennifer, hope you liked your block :)

I saw this block in the Bloggers Block A Palooza - Waiting for Spring, hosted by Quilt Dad and thought it would work well with the prints I had, and also I had just purchased a Mini Fit to be Geese Ruler and was going a little flying geese crazy!

The block is called Lemonade Stand and was designed by Blue Nickel Studios (Scott Hansen).

Postage Disaster :( - Jennifer in NJ

I was just nonchalantly rifling through my purse for my calculator and I discovered one of the 'extras' I supposedly posted to Jennifer in my bag :(

I wrapped my block and some other 'stuff' in tissue paper and put it in my bag, then headed to the post office and inserted the tissue paper into the envelope, and a piece of it is still here in Australia, not flying to New Jersey.

I feel so silly. I will make it up to you Jennifer I promise!

Block from Susan to Robin LaLone

Robin wanted aqua, white and red. It must be the year for this as I had no trouble finding these colors at all. But the really fun part is the name of the block "the Eyes of March".
This is the first time I've done paper piecing and while I enjoyed making the block and learning the technique, I think it wastes a lot of fabric. Of course that might be my total inability to cut a triangle correctly first time out...lol

Our post office is open on Saturday morning, but the block will only be winging it's way across the world sometime after Monday.

Hope you like your block Jennifer!

Fabric Choice Sneak Peak for Jennifer D in NJ

Jennifer mentioned autumnal colours and not liking solids, so this is a sneak peak of the fabrics I have chosen for her block. (Edited to add: The dark fabric is actually a really dark chocolate brown even though it looks black in here, the yellow is like a mustard-gold)

This is also my first time swapping and I found the site via Cherryl from Gone Stitching. So thanks Cherryl!
