Sneak Peek for Susan P

Susan, you wanted red, white and aqua, and I happened to have quite a bit of Fandango laying around, so I hope that this block is exactly what you were hoping for! If you don't like this line, let me know, and I will make something else for you instead!

Fallen behind, but caught up!

I fell behind a bit lately, but I have been working overtime the past two days to catch up, and I am happy to say I did it! I have already emailed you three ladies, but here are sneak peeks for some blocks heading out in the mail tomorrow:

Leanne- This is your shabby chic block, and seeing as its the first time I have ever attempted anything along those lines, I really really hope you like it!

Karyli- Here is a tiny glimpse of your sailboat block! It was my first sailboat block ever, but I was SO excited to use this blue fabric, it was absolutely perfect for the water! I tried to use fabrics that had the appearance of "texture" to emphasize the boat itself, and I hope that you like the final outcome!

Natasha, this block is one of the ones you requested, and I hope the colors (which are a little bit darker in real life than the picture) are satisfactory for you!

I loved making all of these blocks, and it feels so good to be back in front of my sewing machine!

July Block for Evelina (and neat ideas!)

I think this is the first time I have ever finished my block BEFORE the month began.... However, the same day I got my partner info from Linda I had seen a certain tutorial for a block I hadn't ever seen before, and it just so happened to fit into Evelina's preferences/likes, and I also just so happened to have the perfect colors for it :) I had to try it out right away, and I love it so much that I will definitely be making more of these blocks for myself.... For now though you just get a sneak peek:

I hope you like it Evelina, sorry that it is quite blurry, but maybe it will add to the element of suspense! ;)

I am going to try to get it in the mail on Friday, especially since I know international mail takes longer, but my weekdays are too busy to get to the post office during the week.

Now, in case anyone is wondering where I saw the tutorial of the block I just HAD to make, then you should definitely check out the Modify Tradition blog. On the right hand side is a nice list of really fun and neat blocks (some are common ones, others are ones I've never seen, and some are neat twists on traditional ones). You may find a more unique block to try that could be new to you AND your partner. Happy Sewing!

Block for Linda

I tried to get this in the mail today but I made it to the post office SIX minutes too late today :( I figured I had until 3, but apparently only until 230... I'm sorry Linda! I will be going to the post office on my way to school on Monday. (Still sounds weird to be saying that again!)

Here is a sneak peek of the block for you:

I didn't realize until after the block was completely assembled that the whites aren't exactly all the same :/ I hope that isn't going to be a huge problem (I don't mind making another one if it is!). They are all WHITE, just some is slightly thinner. I think when you use the block and quilt it you won't be able to tell. Believe it or not, I had no more white yardage, so I had to pull from scraps to get the white for this block!

P.S. everytime I add a photo to a post it completely screws with the formatting of the message. Does anybody know why it does that or how I can get it to STOP doing that?

Thankyou Charlene!

I received these quite a few days ago, but have not had the chance to get to the computer to post about them!

These are the TWO awesome blocks Charlene sent me, along with some of the fabric for them, which I am thinking would look great to make a scrappy border when all the blocks go together! Thanks so much Charlene!

March Block for Charlene

Here is a sneak peek of the block I am sending to Charlene:

We both said we like surprises, so you will have to wait for her to get the whole thing before you see it ;)

I hope she likes it!

Block Received from Linda

This is the amazing block I received from Linda M yesterday! I apologize for not pressing it first, but I was in a rush out the door to get to work! I am so excited about this swap, and thankyou so much, Linda! Yours is still in the works, but hopefully should be done and in the mail soon!
