February Block For Lynette

Lynette selected "A Mother's Dream" for her February block choice. I love the back-story of this block: a mother's dream = to have each of her children gathered around the table. So cool! Think of it: all the kids gathered around the table. No technology blaring or buzzing. The quilt frame suspended from the ceiling in the sitting room. I think I may have been born one century too late.  :)

Today I spent 1 hour looking through my purple fabric trying to figure out which ones to use. It happens to be my favorite color and I wanted it to be extra special. Cathy asked for the 9 patch done with 5" squares. I hope she likes the block. :-)

Saying Hello

Hello everyone.
I am excited to be a part of the group and look forward to getting to know each of you.
I want to say a special Thank You to Melissa for helping me get started with this group.

A local quilt shop asked me if I would take some of their material that had come in with a flaw and do something with it. I graciously said YES. So as I get a partner I will be sending a fat quarter along with my finished block. I am hoping that this will be a blessing to all and the material will be used.  It is 100% cotton.  I had originally thought I had 100 yards but after reviewing the total it is more along the lines of 300+ yards. It will take me some time to get it all distributed.

Sneak Peak for Aileen

Aileen asked for a wonky house block.  I've never made anything deliberately wonky before so I hope this fits the bill.  It was actually sent out several days ago so should be arriving at its new home any day now.

This is the block I received from Aileen, isn't it lovely.  All the triangles are made from strips and the applique  flowers with button centres are delightful.  Thank you very much for this block Aileen.

Melissa's Missing Cat Block

I'm so happy to advise that Melissa's Missing Cat Block has been found. I know that she has received a replacement, but what can I say. Block from Ida to Kathy

Thanks to my January Block Swap Adventure, Ida from El Paso, Texas, I received another churn dash block as requested. I love the purple paired with the small print background Ida selected. She also enclosed a few scraps!!! I asked for these because I will be using them as cornerstones in my sashing when I finish the quilt. Thanks, Ida!
