Hi, I'm new to the Block Swap and I'm having a little trouble making the block my partner requested. It's called the Tulip Ladyfingers block and it can be found here. Basically I can't get all the tips of the "tulips" to be pointy once I've squared up my block a little. Plus, even with the tulips that are pointy, I don't understand how they will stay pointy once my partner sews them to another block with a 1/4 inch seam allowance. I would appreciate any help someone could give me so I can send a perfect block that my partner can use. Thanks!!!

It sounds like your quarter inch seams aren't quarter inch. Check them, please. An index card with lines is one way to check. For the points to be pointy, you may need to use a scant quarter inch seam-one thread smaller than a quarter inch.
I wish i could help you! As a relatively new quilter its quite scary when given a block that intimidates...and nice to feel confident about sending it off to your partner....have you googled for help?
Thanks so much Charlene and Bobbie! I appreciate the help!!!
