Block from Susan to Robin LaLone

Robin wanted aqua, white and red. It must be the year for this as I had no trouble finding these colors at all. But the really fun part is the name of the block "the Eyes of March".
This is the first time I've done paper piecing and while I enjoyed making the block and learning the technique, I think it wastes a lot of fabric. Of course that might be my total inability to cut a triangle correctly first time out...lol

Susan, the block is gorgeous! I made a paper pieced block for Feb., and that was exactly how I felt. It seems a bit wasteful for me too....but it certainly makes a pretty quilt block : )

It's hard to believe that this was your first time paper piecing. The block is fantastic! I have only paper pieced once and found it quite cumbersome.

beautiful block, I love the colour scheme! I think I read something recently that has tips on cutting for paper piecing, I will have a look at home and if I find it pass on the info!
