Check Those Seam Allowances!

I have received a few complaints that blocks are not being made to the 12" requirement - or rather the 12 1/2" unfinished measurement.  Some blocks are being made smaller - some measuring only 11 3/4".  PLEASE remember to check your seam allowances.  Most, if not all, blocks should have 1/4" seam allowances.  Some blocks even call for a 'scant 1/4" seam allowance'.  If your block does not measure up to the 12 1/2" size, then check your seams!  If you would like some ideas on how to achieve these 1/4" seams every time, please feel free to ask here or send me an email.

Hugs,
Linda G

i know from experience that that seam allowance does not have to be out by much to end up with a 'wrong' sized block ... and it is not one of those .. 'near enough is good enough' things either ... that seam allowance really does need to be spot on ... as does the first cuts of the fabric ... oh the misshapen blocks that i have made ....

measure twice .. cut once ... is a very good rule to follow ...
